Founded in 2017 by Mélissa Artis, the brand was born from a simple wish: to offer beautiful, high-quality jewelry made in France — pieces that stand up to time, water, and passing trends.

It’s a story that began in 2017, as a family adventure — back when I was still a student.
With Philip, my partner in life and in work, we wanted to create the kind of jewelry I couldn’t find anywhere else: modern, durable, and accessible pieces you can wear every day — without having to think about them, or take them off.
Waekura is a small brand with a small team, where everyone wears many hats.
I take care of everything you see: the jewelry and its inspirations, the photos, the website, and all our communication.

We’ve weathered a few storms along the way, but we’re still standing — with the same passion as day one.
I draw endless inspiration from the South and the Mediterranean: golden light, sun-warmed textures, and the soft shades of nature.
My goal? To design pieces that feel essential but effortless — subtle touches that elevate any outfit without ever overdoing it.

Gold finish
Every piece is carefully gold-plated in France with 18k recycled gold — 1 or 3 microns thick, depending on the piece.
A protective finish makes our jewelry water-resistant, so it stays beautiful through everyday life.
Brass
All our jewelry begins with brass — carefully shaped in Spain, China, France, and Germany.
Each workshop is chosen for its know-how and attention to detail, guaranteeing impeccable quality.
The brass we use is always recycled — and fully recyclable.
The sketch
Once the mood is set, the sketches evolve, and the first prototypes come to life in our ateliers.
We focus on designing jewelry that feels light, effortless, and made to be worn — day in, day out.
Inspiration
Every collection begins with a moodboard — the heart of our inspiration.
Colors, textures, words, and images come together to give life to a world of their own.
From there, the first sketches emerge, carried by a mood and a story waiting to be told.
