FORWARD: PREPARATION

Step 1: Moodboard

Before any collection, you need inspiration. The idea of the jewels but also the theme, the atmosphere, the overall mood.

For this summer it will be Carmen. Warmth, travel, holidays.

Carmen having 4 acts, we will do 4 atmospheres! Like a holiday day, the arrival in the morning in the city, the discovery and first walks, the visits of the cult places and then the end of the day with the sunset.

That's it! Now it's time for the mood boards that will inspire us for the outfits, the poses and the locations.

example: moodboard for part 4 that we did in the city

Mood validated, we are already in!

The place? Accessible (with the covid it was difficult!) with good weather, not far from where we are. Hours of googles views and instagram : Sitgès !
A small seaside town near Barcelona, perfect for the theme! With whom? Which outfits? In what order?

For the model and the make-up artist?

A natural atmosphere, a sunny girl.

An ultra light make-up because we don't wear make-up at the beach and want to apply what we do too!

Sandra Hortelano, made up by Mabel Boon, is a favourite.

A contact, a feeling that goes straight through, same age and vision of things, it's a match!

Styling is very important!

Which outfit with which jewellery?

Not too sexy, something we could wear ourselves, something that will show off the jewellery, something that will go with the place we want...

This is the best part of the shoot, the shopping!

Once everything is found, we put it all on a presentation so that we can send it to the model and have everything on the day.

DURING: LET'S GO!

Opening the suitcase, we are in the hotel!

We take our brief, set up outfit by outfit with matching jewellery, hair/make-up and then shooting!

Between each look we went back to the hotel for outfit changes, jewellery and make-up. An intense rhythm and 3200 photos taken that day for 300 kept!

Some will be used in stories, others on the site or in newsletters, a huge but necessary content!

After the shoot very little retouching, only light/grain, we want to keep Sandra's natural (sublime) look!

For this shooting, our first videos! On the iPhone, but better than nothing! And we are quite proud of the results...

Philip at the video and myself at the photo, a first for both of us!

Once the shooting is finished, the photos have to be sorted, the same colour filter has to be used, they have to be renamed and cut so that they are less heavy on the site, the product sheets have to be made, the editing has to be done, the communication has to be done... A lot of work for such a small team but what a satisfaction to master all this and to see your opinions on each campaign!

I hope you enjoyed this behind-the-scenes look at our work!
