Our Know-How

OUR KNOWLEDGE - TO DO

STEP 1: MY INSPIRATIONS

Every collection starts with an inspiration. A shape, a place or a person can inspire me. I also spend a lot of time on the Internet looking for trends around the world and on social networks that are full of inspiring people and worlds. I also try to give myself breaks to take a breather and have a fresh pair of eyes when I come back. It's usually out of the office that 1,000 ideas arrive! Then I create a moodboard in accordance with my inspirations, which gives birth to a universe in which the collection is anchored. The jewellery creation process comes second, once the image of the collection has been defined.

STEP 2: THE DESIGN

Currently, our jewellery comes from two different sources.

I draw some models based on my inspirations and the image we want to give to the collection.

When time and means are lacking, I choose certain references, already designed and plated in 3 micron gold, from catalogues from French manufacturers who produce jewellery and resell them. This is the case for medallions because we do not yet know how to polish all our models properly.

Creating 100% of our jewelry takes time. We therefore call on these suppliers to complete our collections and to offer you more and more models that can withstand anything. Today, this mode of sourcing represents just under 10%. of our collections. We are increasingly detaching ourselves from these suppliers in order to create our own models.

In February 2021, 80% of the jewels are ours, some medallions and chains come from French and Spanish suppliers (because we do not have - yet - all the know-how).

Gold-Plating

After receiving the brass parts, we send them to a gilder. Parisian

First, the gilder cleans the pieces by ultrasound. Totally clean, they are finally ready to receive their treatment. The jewels are then soaked in a bath by electrolytic process. A 3-micron layer of gold, for our jewellery, then covers the metal. The bath lasts more or less long depending on the surface to be gilded and the desired thickness.

Absolutely ALL our jewellery is gold-plated in France. This is the most important for gold-plated jewellery, isn't it? :D

STEP 3: CREATION

The design of brass pieces

Once the design of the model is made (usually a life-size sketch to get an idea of what the jewel will look like), we translate it on the computer and send it to one of our partner workshops to create the mould and the very first brass piece. They may be in France, China, Spain or Germany depending on their expertise. China for the buckles, Spain for the rings, Germany for the chains, France for everything else. All our workshops are certified with different BSCI, European standards etc... We think it is quite possible to produce outside France if it is WELL produced!

Once the brass piece is received at the office, we evaluate it: is it not too heavy? Does the result look good? ... Then, when we are finally satisfied, we validate it and start the production of the series with the workshop.

We do not produce more than 100 pieces, on average, per model. This allows us to avoid having too much stock, to avoid waste but also to make sure that you don't find our models on a large number of people (except for the mega best sellers, in this case we restart production, we don't want to see you sad ;))

Assembly, welding and engraving

Once our beautiful gold-plated jewellery is received at the office, I assemble certain models if necessary (the pearls or clasps, for example).

As for the engraving, we program your texts, drawings or any other request on a software. After adjusting a few machine parameters, the diamond tip is placed on the chosen piece of jewellery to dig into the material. We do all the engraving ourselves, so you can have two slightly different models!

P.S.: in our corners, you can also have the engraving done in just a few minutes directly with our sales advisers!

STEP 4: LOGISTICS

Before being put online or brought to our points of sale, our jewellery undergoes a final quality control, then we store it in our offices.

Every day, our small team prepares your orders online. Linen pouch or not, silk paper, personalized note or other request, ... everything is packed and sent to our logistics warehouse located a few minutes from Paris. Once your orders have arrived, the warehouse teams are in charge of putting them in their shipping boxes with postal label.

At last, your orders are on the road before landing in your mailboxes!
